    BO SÖDERSTRÖM is a docent in biology and works as editor in chief of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He was born in and has been fascinated with animals from a young age, and he currently has three cats; two burmese and one crossbreed.     Bo is Associate Professor in Conservation Biology. His main research interests are in landscape biology of threatened species, especially of butterflies, bumble bees and birds. He has written six popular science books and more than articles. During the last 15 years Bo has been working as editor in different capacities: the Swedish Species Information Centre ( to ), the journal of Biological Conservation (), and since as Editor-in-Chief of Ambio.
